FBC Men’s Golf League – Tanglewood Golf Course
The format is simple:
- Play nine holes
- Meet afterwards for prizes, drinks and…
- Discuss a chapter of the great little book called “Golf’s Sacred Journey” by David Cook (we will supply the books)
Practice Rounds: May 24 and May 31 (To establish handicaps)
League Dates:
June 7,14,21,28
July (no 5th ) 12,19,26
August 2,9,16,23,30
Cost: $20 includes 9 holes, cart, and drink (must ride to keep league moving)
League Cost: $10 (Prizes)
How is the League Competition to be run ?
Each player is in “The Johnny Cup” (explained in the book ). The Johnny Cup format is that you will compete against the field in a 12 week long point competition. Each player will use his handicap (if you don’t have one, we will assign one following careful scrutiny of you, your clubs and your first card 
to calculate points based on your net score for each hole. Your weekly card will be collected and tabulated by our experts. Handicaps will be adjusted weekly and will be based on your last 2 scores.
- Individual Season Long Competition:
- Each player will keep his own score each week, commissioner will figure out your point total based on your handicap and the following point system. (Can you trust me????)
- 1 point for a bogey
- 2 points for a par
- 4 points for a birdie
- 8 points for an eagle
- 12 points for a double eagle
- 5 points for just showing up
- Weekly Team prizes and snacks
- Each foursome will keep the best three net scores for each hole
- Golf Ball sleeves or similar prize for weekly winning team (prizes will be given out the next week)
- End of Year Tournament
- August 29th Sand Ridge Country Club Cost $125
- Will utilize the league standings for pairings and flights
